Botox

Botox, a true multitasker

Botox reduces muscle tension and blocks nerve impulses. It is well known that botox is used to soften or even disappear wrinkles or fine lines. But not everyone knows that botox is also a tried and tested remedy for other physical problems and complaints. For example, you can tackle excessive sweating and teeth grinding with botox. And those who suffer a lot from migraines or tension headaches can also benefit from treatment with botox. Botox is also increasingly being used in the case of a hypertonic bladder, involuntary use of the vocal cords, muscle spasms during a rehabilitation or physiotherapy process and fasiculation, or a twitch in your eye. It is advisable to have the botox treatment take place in a renowned clinic. Botox against excessive sweating Heavy sweating when you're exercising, when it's really hot, or when you're quite nervous is normal. However, if you feel like you're perspiring more than others, it can get annoying. Excessive sweating is a condition where someone sweats more than usual. This can have various causes, such as a physical disorder such as hyperhidrosis where you sweat excessively without exercising. Predisposition to a period of stress can also underlie it. When drugs such as antiperspirants or deodorants no longer help, botox can offer a solution. Botox for excessive sweating ensures that the nerves that cause perspiration have stopped. Botox is used for sweaty hands, sweaty feet, in the face and underarms. With a thin needle, the botox has been injected into the area to be treated. Because botox loses its effect after approximately 3 to 4 months, the treatment must be repeated after a certain period of time. Botox against teeth grinding Teeth grinding, also known as bruxism, is the act of pushing teeth over each other with considerable force. This causes an abrasive or grinding sound. As a result, teeth can wear out faster. Also, grinding your teeth can cause sore chewing muscles. In addition, the chewing muscles can become thicker after a while because they are trained by grinding your teeth. This is often experienced by teeth grinders themselves as an aesthetic problem. To prevent and remedy teeth grinding, botox in the masticatory muscles are injected. The botox ensures that muscle tension decreases, after which symptoms decrease. With botox, teeth grinding can even stop completely. About every 3 to 4 months, the botox treatment will have to be repeated. Botox against migraines The botox treatment is a treatment that has been shown to have a positive effect on disorders involving increased muscle tone. Migraine patients or patients with other forms of (tension) headache therefore also notice a clear relief of symptoms when using botox. Usually, only the frown muscle is treated to achieve a clear reduction in headache symptoms. In addition, the back of the neck and head are sometimes also treated. Because the muscles are made less strong, the muscle tension that causes the headache decreases. As a result, the headache or migraine decreases in intensity and frequency. When the botox migraine treatment has worn out, the drug must be injected again. However, not everyone with tension headaches or migraines benefits from botox. One treatment with botox is usually needed to see if it has any effect.
