Botox prix

You come across a Botox offer and what could be wrong with that? At first glance, it seems quite simple. Surely Botox is just Botox... But do you also know right away whether you get value for your money? How much should a botox treatment actually cost? In this blog, I'll explain how the price of a botox treatment is structured. Understanding how the prices for botulinum toxin are determined increases the chance that you will find a treatment that you will also be satisfied with. As a clinic, aren't we cutting ourselves in the fingers? Perhaps. But being honest about beauty also means being transparent about prices. This is our philosophy.

The price of Botox

The price of botulinum toxin is calculated per unit. Allergan, the manufacturer of Botox, offers the product in powder form in packs of 50 and 100 units. Each clinic pays the same price per unit for Botox: €2.50 There is also a lot of work with other brands of botulinum toxin in the Netherlands. These variants are (sometimes much) cheaper and shorter on the market, so safety has been proven less extensively, and I do not recommend that you get treated with them.

For a treatment for frown wrinkles in a good clinic with 25 units of Botox, the total cost is an average of €125. In a clinic that uses “Budget Botox”, the cost is sometimes half, €62.50!

So, in order to make a real comparison between different clinics, you need to know three things:

  • Does the clinic actually use Botox, or do they use something completely different?
  • What is the unit price that is charged to you?
  • How many units are required for your treatment?

What is the Botox price for Botox treatment?

Depending on the clinic, the price of a “botox treatment” zone in the Netherlands in 2011 will range from €100 to €250. This large variation in price is largely determined by:

  • The used product, a lot of people work with the cheap version.
  • The experience of the treating physician.
  • The name/location of the clinic.

A good clinic with experienced doctors is generally more expensive than a small, unfamiliar clinic with inexperienced doctors. Paying more because you are being treated by an experienced doctor with training and expertise is probably a wise investment to avoid disappointments and complications. In a previous blog post I already wrote about the best way to find a clinic. Low costs should never be the main motive for choosing a clinic.

How many Botox units per treatment?

Once you know the approximate cost of botox, all you need to know is how many units you need for a thorough behandeling. This varies per person and the area you want to be treated. So it's not the case that treating crow's feet or frown lines requires a standard number of Botox units; this depends on each person.

Cost accounting

If you know approximately the cost per unit and how many units you need for your specific treatment, you can calculate the total cost. Now you know roughly what you should pay. You can then decide for yourself whether you think you will get value for money. Be careful with “botox bargains” or “botox offer”. If an offer is too good to be true, it probably is. Your safety must come first. Ask yourself how it can be so cheap. Don't waste money on budget Botox options, unless, of course, you've done your homework and really bumped into a good botox deal. Above all, look for a medical professional who has an eye for who you are, takes into account your needs and appearance and does not want to treat you at any cost without giving thorough advice beforehand.
