Botox side effects are not common. However, immediately after the botox treatment, there may be a small blue spot, what redness or a slight burning sensation. These are the most real updates that can appear after a botox treatment. In the case of a botox treatment of the forehead, a flat feeling can sometimes occur. Some people describe this as a feeling that there is a tight band around the head or a piece of cardboard. Others experience it as a species headaches. It seems that the patient has to get used to the botox acting.
Should the botox not be injected properly, rarer side effects may occur. The most important side effect of botox is the drooping eyelid. Fortunately, this side effect almost never occurs in practice because we have built up a lot of experience as a professional cosmetic clinic. Another rare side effect of botox is a 'doctor Spock', named after the famous Star Wars figure with the high eyebrows. A doctor Spock therefore means nothing more than raising the eyebrows. In America, they like that very much, but it is less appreciated in the Netherlands.
Another side effect or botox is that the eyebrows — in contrast to the doctor Spock — sometimes go down. The reason for this is that just a little too much botox has been placed. It is important to realize that botox is a safe remedy, provided it is used properly. For example, always keep in mind that some people are hypersensitive to (any of the ingredients of) Botox. In combination with certain medications, such as antibiotics, botox can also cause side effects. It is also important that with real botox is being worked because the side effects are nil.
