There are a number of disadvantages to every chemical peel, including the TCA peel. After each peeling, the skin will peel. This is part of the process. Sheets should never be pulled off the skin. There is a chance that new skin cells will be pulled along. Up to six weeks after treatment, the skin must be protected from UV rays with SPF 50+. No peels, scrubs, aromatherapy or essential oils should be used for up to two weeks after treatment. Hair removal treatments and the use of products that contain retinol or fruit acids are also not recommended.
