Fillers

Different types of fillers

Are you tired of those wrinkles or lines on your face and want to get something done about them? Or does your skin lack volume, so you have a somewhat sunken face? A filler treatment is a friendly and safe cosmetic treatment that restores volume and reduces wrinkles and lines. The perfect solution if you want quick results and would rather not opt for a major surgical treatment that involves cutting into your skin. Always get good advice before undergoing a filler treatment. Indeed, there are numerous filler treatments. There are permanent fillers, fillers with hyaluronic acids, collagen stimulators, fillers with PRP and lipofilling. Terms that may not all sound familiar to you, let alone consciously make a good choice from these different types of filler treatments. What are the differences between these fillers and which treatment suits you best?

Permanent fillers

Dermolive, Bio-Alcamid and Aquamid are examples of permanent fillers, artificial fillers that provide permanent results and can be applied very accurately. However, they are not always safe to use. This is because the risk of complications after a permanent filler treatment is greater than after a treatment with temporary fillers, such as hyaluronic acid fillers.

Hyaluronic acid fillers

Hyaluronic acid fillers are made from the body's own substance and are therefore soluble. A big advantage! The risk of complications is zero. Examples of hyaluronic acid fillers include Juvéderm, Restylane, and Teosyal. Fillers with Juvéderm are mainly used to subtly reduce minor imperfections and restore volume. Such as treating bags under the eyes and filling in the lips. The Restylane filler consists of various hyaluronic acid particles (hyaluronic acid particles). Restylane Vital, a filler with small particles, is often used to reduce fine lines. Restylane Perlane, which contains larger particles of hyaluronic acid, is suitable for treating deeper grooves. Teosyal is often used for a so-called liquid facelift, a complete facial treatment that restores skin volume. Cheekbones, cheeks, temples, chin... All facial parts are included in this filler treatment. Clinic Doctor Frodo performs most filler treatments with the hyaluronic acids Juvederm and Restylane. They are the most safe to use and provide a temporary but immediate result.

Collagen stimulation

Collagen stimulators stimulate the production of the skin's own collagen. Examples include Radiesse and Sculptra. Would you like to have the contours of your face restored, for example with the jawline, chin or nose? In those cases, collagen stimulation with Radiesse is a good solution. This filler provides long-term results and is broken down naturally by the body after two years. People with sunken faces, for example caused by old age, often benefit from treatment with Sculptra. Thanks to the polylactic acid component, the effect of Sculptra persists even after degradation by the body.

PRP treatment

To boost your skin and stimulate skin regeneration, you can opt for a PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) treatment. Here, your own blood plasma is used as a filler. The advantage of this treatment is that the filler consists of the body's own substance. However, this filler treatment works less well than a treatment with hyaluronic acid fillers. For the best result, it is therefore better to opt for a Angel Elevator.

Lipofilling

Ultimately, there is the option for a filler in the form of lipofilling, which uses your own body fat to restore facial volume loss. This filler treatment is very safe and provides permanent results. Nevertheless, the treatment method is fairly crude. It is also not always possible to predict what the result will look like, because it is less accurate than with temporary fillers such as Restylane and Juvéderm, for example.
