The laser and light guideline is based on evidence from published scientific research. Laser treatment/flashlight therapy is not a reserved act under the BIG Act. That's why others than doctors are also allowed to use this treatment. Laser treatments against couperose, pigment disorders, but also laser hair removal, are in fact done on a large scale by inexperienced therapists. Given the damage that can occur due to improper use, it is recommended that treatment be performed by a physician or under medical supervision.
