Sunlight has both advantages and disadvantages. This is because sunlight is our most important source of vitamin D. This is important for our immune system, strong bones and teeth and for the proper functioning of the muscles. However, sunburn can also cause negative effects such as skin dehydration, pigmentation, skin aging and damage to your DNA, with skin cancer as a possible result. So use the sun wisely and keep the following rules in mind: 1. Use a good one sunscreen, when you sunbathe, at least factor 30 that offers both UVB and UVA protection. Applying a new coat once every two hours is enough. It's a myth that a high factor doesn't make you tan. 2. Hydrate. Inside and out. Apply body lotion every day. This way, you prevent dehydration and you can also benefit from your summer complexion for longer. Opt for a day cream with at least SPF 15 to reduce the risk of future lines and wrinkles. Drink plenty of water, at least two liters, to keep your body's fluid balance up. 3. Cover your skin. One fabric protects better against the sun than the other. You can see how well a fabric protects against the sun when you keep it from the sun. Does the fabric let in much or little light? A sun hat and sunglasses protect the delicate skin around your eyes. 4. Protect with vitamins C and E, minerals and beta carotene to protect the skin from UV damage. You'll find them in yellow, orange and red coloured fruit and yellow, orange, red and dark green coloured vegetables. 5. Between noon and 3 pm, the sun is most powerful. The advice is therefore to: within those hours, sun to avoid. If you want to bake, stay in the sun for up to three hours a day. Did you spend too much time in the sun? Then consider one of my skin rejuvenation treatments, such as the Neostrata fruit acid peeling with glycolic acid. With this peeling, which works deep into the skin, you literally shed your old skin and get smooth, radiant skin back. Without pigmentation, blackheads, lines and wrinkles.
