The main causes of red spots

Do you suffer from red spots, rapidly blushing skin or small, visible blood vessels in your face? Sometimes they are the result of a skin condition such as eczema or psoriasis. But there may also be other causes of redness and red spots. We list the 5 most important causes for you.

1. Allergic reaction

Red spots as a result of an allergic reaction occur, for example, after eating a certain food or after an insect bite. These red spots often go away on their own as soon as the reaction subsidies.

2. Eating or drinking incorrectly

In particular, spicy and spicy foods or foods that contain high levels of histamine, such as some cheeses or spinach, can cause redness. But dairy products, chocolate and certain citrus fruits can also affect your skin. As well as alcohol and hot drinks. It can therefore be useful to keep a close eye on your diet if you suffer from red spots on your face.

3. Effort

Exercise is good for your physical condition, but too much exercise can cause your body to overheat. When your head turns bright red, make sure you slow down and drink plenty of water.

4. Skin Care Products

Sensitive skin can react strongly to certain skin care products. Therefore, avoid products that contain alcohol or perfume. At Clinic Doctor Frodo, we recommend using SkinCeuticals' skin care products.

5. Weather

Have you been in the sun a little too long? Or braved the cold wind or rain? Both weather influences are a test for your skin. So prevent your skin from being exposed to UV rays for too long and protect your skin with a warm hat or scarf in cold weather conditions. If you want to get rid of your red spots, you can consider using a IPL couperose treatment to undergo. Here, the blood vessels that cause the red glow are treated and will be less visible.
