Fillers

Bumps after fillers

After applying fillers, bumps may occur. However, a distinction must first be made between two types fillers:

Permanent fillers

Permanent fillers used to be widely used and can cause lumps. Because this type of filler is permanent, the bumps it can give are also permanent. The only option to remove them is through a surgical procedure. This procedure is not performed at Clinic Dr. Frodo because the clinic does not work with permanent fillers.

Hyaluronic acid fillers

The second type of filler — the one in Doctor Frodo Clinic is used — is the hyaluronic acid filler. Hyaluronic acid fillers consist of a substance that occurs naturally in the human body. This greatly reduces the risk of side effects. However, there is a small chance of developing lumps. When the lump feels sore, it is often a bruise. These bumps are usually not even visible on the outside. A bruise disappears by itself.

Remove bulge with hyaluronidase

Is there a non-painful lump? Then this is often the hyaluronic acid itself. Such a bump is easy to solve with hyaluronidase. This is a type of hyaluronic acid antidote. After insertion into a lump or another area where there is an unwanted hyaluronic acid filler, hyaluronidase ensures that this filler dissolves. This is in contrast to permanent fillers that nothing can be done after installation.

Granuloma

Another very rare type of lump is granuloma. A granuloma is an inflammatory response to a foreign substance. This reaction is almost never seen with the brand's fillers. Juvederm. If a reaction does occur, it can also be remedied with hyaluronidase, the antidote. In short, a bump after a filler treatment with hyaluronic acid is weird. But when this does occur, it usually goes away on its own or is easy to treat.
