What are the differences with the surgical facelift and the liquid facelift? There are different types of facelifts. In addition to the most well-known facelift such as the MACS lift, the neck lift or the S-lift (where the plastic surgeon makes an incision around the ear and thus tightens the skin and muscles), there is also the liquid facelift. The surgical facelift is rapidly losing its popularity to the liquid facelift. But why?
The liquid facelift, also known as facelift without surgery mentioned, is a combination of specialized treatment techniques with fillers such as Radiesse, Restylane or Juvederm. For example, an analysis of your facial characteristics is made prior to the treatment. Then, under local anaesthesia, amounts of hyaluronic acid are injected at various locations in the skin. The liquid facelift repairs facial sagging and restores the volume of the skin, resulting in a more youthful appearance. This treatment therefore does not require surgery and your skin recovers faster than after a surgical facelift.
As the name suggests, the surgical one finds facelift place on the operating table. In this treatment, the skin and subcutaneous tissue are tightened, making the skin tighter. A natural effect is very difficult to achieve because few people really have an indication of skin tightening. The main cause of skin aging lies in the loss of volume of subcutaneous tissue and not “increasing the size of the skin”. With a surgical facelift, however, only the skin is pulled tight and the loss of volume is not restored. With a liquid facelift, a natural result is created without cutting. An additional advantage: after the treatment, you can go home immediately!
Over the past few decades, the popularity of facelifts has increased. At the start of the 20e A facelift was carried out for the first time in the century. Until the 1960s, almost only skin was removed. A surgical facelift has the same risks as any other operation. The facelift is also being carried out less and less among well-known Dutch people because the 'downtime' is so long. There is a risk of bleeding. An infection can also occur. Sometimes a nerve is also damaged, which can make the face numb or paralyzed. For dark skin, a facelift can occasionally cause scars. Nowadays, however, there are more and more options for skin improvement without surgery. Because the risks are almost nil, many people choose this. Previously, the Liquid facelift Amsterdam was reserved, but it is now also possible to do the treatment in The Hague, Rotterdam or Beda. Nowadays, there are really more and more options for skin improvement without surgery. Because the risks are almost nil, many people choose this.
