What is Restylane?

Restylane is a hyaluronic acid filler developed in Sweden by Q-Med AB. Unlike other fillers, such as JUVÉDERM®, Restylane has a less gentle composition, making it ideal for filling fine lines as well as larger volumes. Thanks to its various formulas — such as Restylane Vital for fine lines and Restylane Perlane for deeper wrinkles — this filler is highly versatile.

Since its approval by the U.S. FDA in 2005, more than 11 million Restylane treatments have been performed worldwide. As a result, Restylane is not only effective, but also extensively tested and proven safe.

Restylane Safety

At Clinic Doctor Frodo, safety and quality always come first. Restylane consists of stabilized, non-animal hyaluronic acid and water, so that the body tolerates it well. If you do experience an adverse reaction, we can easily dissolve the filler with hyaluronidase.

Unlike permanent fillers, such as PMS fillers or Bio-Alcamid, Restylane breaks down naturally over time. Permanent fillers can cause long-term complications such as encapsulation and irritation. That's why we only work with biodegradable fillers such as Restylane and JUVÉDERM®.

Restylane Kysse

Restylane Kysse has been specially developed for lips. It naturally adds volume and definition to the lips and smoothes wrinkles around the mouth. This filler is ideal for people who want to highlight their lips or correct asymmetry.

Restylane Silk

Restylane Silk offers subtle but effective results for smoothing fine lines around the mouth, such as smoker lines. In addition, it gives definition to the lips and restores volume in the cheeks and under the eyes.

Lyft Restylane

Restylane Lyft is a versatile filler that is ideal for restoring volume and definition to the cheeks. It smoothes wrinkles and fine lines in the middle of the face and under the eyes. In addition, Restylane Lyft can also add volume to the hands for a more youthful look.

Restylane

The classic Restylane filler is perfect for restoring volume and smoothing facial wrinkles. This filler specifically targets moderate to severe wrinkles, such as nasolabial folds, and adds volume to cheeks and lips.

Restylane Refyne

Restylane Refyne provides natural results for reducing wrinkles and fine lines on the face, such as marionette lines and nasolabial creases. It is also great for restoring volume in the cheeks.

Restylane Defyne is designed to provide natural results for deeper wrinkles and fine lines, such as marionette lines and nasolabial creases. In addition, it effectively restores volume in the cheeks.

Restylane Contour

Restylane Contour has been specifically developed to bring volume and definition back to the jawline and chin. This filler improves the appearance of a weak or undefined jawline and helps accentuate natural facial contours.

What is a hyaluronic acid filler?

With fillers from hyaluronic we combat both volume and moisture loss. After a filler treatment, the skin is smoother and the treated areas in the face have returned to their 'familiar' volume. We aim to achieve the most subtle and natural result possible — we don't want to give you a different face, but to give you back your old look.

Although Dr. Frodo's hyaluronic acid fillers provide immediate results, the fillers are not permanent. This is because the body breaks down the hyaluronic acid naturally within one and a half to two years. In order not to keep yo-yo between a wrinkled face and a young appearance, we recommend that you keep doing a touch-up 9 to 12 months after the first treatment.

A major advantage of hyaluronic acid fillers is that they are easy to process and remove. If you are not satisfied with the result after a filler treatment, these injectables are easy to re-model. With the help of hyaluronidase, we can also ensure that the hyaluronic acid is immediately broken down naturally, thereby reversing the effect of the treatment.

What other fillers do we work with at Kliniek Dokter Frodo?

Juvederm

Juvéderm has a gentle composition and provides a long-lasting and natural result. To treat bags under the eyes and lips, we use Juvéderm Volbella, because of the property that it causes almost no swelling and maintains its natural shape. Other areas are usually treated with Juvéderm Voluma. Voluma provides a lot of 'lift' and corrects loss of volume in the cheeks, cheekbones, temples, nasolabial fold, corners of the mouth, chin and jawline. Sculptra

Sculptra is a 100% biodegradable polylactic acid and is synthetic and hypoallergenic. Sculptra stimulates the formation of the skin's own collagen. The polylactic acid is slowly broken down over a period of months, while new collagen tissue is created during the same time. Even when Sculptra is completely broken down by the body, the effect of the newly formed collagen tissue remains visible.

Sculptra is unique because it not only addresses the effects of skin aging, but also the causes, such as collagen and bone loss. It restores volume by stimulating the body's own collagen, so that lines and wrinkles are reduced and the youthful appearance returns naturally.

At our clinic in Amsterdam South, we use Sculptra for, among other things:

• Contour enhancement
• More volume in the cheeks and temples
• Reducing marionette lines (corner of the mouth folds)
• Reducing the nasolabial fold (creases between nose and mouth)
• Restoring the contours of the jaw and chin line

Macrolane™

Macrolane™ is a thicker version of Restylane. In our clinic, we mainly use Macrolane™ for treatments aimed at reducing scars and improving body contours. With Macrolane™, we can adjust the shape of the body in a natural, non-permanent way.

Permanent fillers or non-permanent fillers?

At Kliniek Dokter Frodo, we only work with fillers that are broken down by the body itself over time. We therefore do not use permanent fillers that are encapsulated by the tissue for our treatments. Restylane and Juvéderm are the biodegradable fillers we work with the most. These fillers immediately give more volume after injection and also stimulate the production of new collagen. The breakdown of hyaluronic acid begins to become visible on average one and a half years after treatment. Exactly how fast this goes varies from person to person.
